What is your fallout? Do you find yourself unexpectedly homeschooling children, working from home, on the frontlines as medical, food, or transportation personnel? Do you have a loved one in the military who has been called to help in some way? Everyone has been affected in some way from this pandemic.
Everyday we are reminded of just how important it is to “stay home”, “go out only for essentials”, “stay connected”, etc.
How could we have ever imagined we would be quarantined and having to figure out how to love those we serve in creative virtual ways while keeping our own personal life floating well?
Here are some things we are learning to use to keep in touch with those we are called to serve.
Zoom. Zoom is an avenue for video conferencing with groups of people. We have taken part in zoom conferencing with our Life Group, with our church’s Adult ministry pastor and leaders encouraging us to continue to reach out to our groups and giving us information and tools to do so better by calling in experts on mental health and how to be creative with finances.
Social Media. We are ramping up support through our Facebook and Instagram platforms by inviting folks to engage in discussions and by posting helpful information and encouragement.
Phone calls. We are making phone calls and texting with individuals to help them know we care.
I am sure as time goes on, we will learn even more ways to keep the connections and support ongoing.
