Notes for Podcast 26 “Enough or Push More”
Bible Passages: Proverbs 22:6, Ephesians 6:1-4, Matthew 5:48, 2 Corinthians 13:14
Do you find yourself wondering how much you should push your children to develop?
Parents we know have had several schools of thought:
1. No interventions at all.
2. Do hours and hours of research, interview many experts in all the therapy fields, hook their children up with the best.
3. Intervention on steroids potentially to the detriment of siblings, spouses, friends (and maybe even the child).
4. Learn from the experts, go for certifications and degrees in the fields that will most help your child, and do most of the interventions yourself at home.
5. And variations and combinations of all of the above.
THINGS TO CONSIDER”
Medical fragility
Season of life

This child’s capabilities

– Consider the above.
– Pray.
– wise counsel.
– Get others to pray with you and for you and for your child.

– Don’t get discouraged or compare yourself to others.
Remember:
– YOU are the parent.
– God has given you everything you need for life and godliness. 2 Pet.1:3
– He who calls you is faithful. 1 Thes. 5:24
– He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young. Isa. 40:11

– Be willing to step it up.
– Consider what you can do at home.
– Consider getting trained yourself.
God gave that specific child to YOU to raise for a time. Whether by adoption, foster care, or biologically, God has appointed you and He will equip you.
It is NEVER too late. There is always HOPE.
