(Staff and Volunteers)
Thank you! Thank you for all you do for God’s people and particularly those with visible and hidden disabilities and their caregivers, parents, siblings, and extended families.
Having spent time with many of you from all over the country (and the world) at two different conferences this spring, these are some things we observe about you that are truly a blessing:
- YOU CARE. Your heart is big. Your desire is for belonging for all of God’s people in the local church.
- YOU CONSIDER. You think beyond “program” and are intentional about getting to know the unique needs and dignity of every individual and family.
- YOU CREATE. You do not see obstacles or barriers, you see challenges to conquer.
- YOU CHAMPION. You actively support and defend, with enthusiasm and leadership, the place of the people for whom you are advocating within the whole church. You disciple.
- YOU COLLABORATE. You investigate solutions together with families. You have developed a team-oriented, humble approach to making the church more belonging.
- YOU CONTINUE. Even when it is hard. Even when you are misunderstood or not taken seriously. Even when you are discouraged and tired. You persevere.
We so cherish the times when ministry leaders step up to our exhibitor table at a conference or whenever we get a chance to chat with you at one of our breakouts. We love to hear the answers to the question we often ask, “What brought you to the conference?” The details are unique but the heart of each of you is the same. You care. It all starts with caring.
